Terrain Bookkeeping is a virtual, boutique bookkeeping firm that specializes in serving veterinary clinics and marketing & creative agencies. Our mission is to help business owners increase profits by providing key financial insights so they can build thriving, sustainable businesses.
We are a small but growing team, looking to find someone to grow with us in roles and responsibilities as the business grows. We have our processes and systems in place, but are always working to improve so that we can deliver our work more efficiently. We believe in respecting your time, both at work and outside of work, and will never ask you to work weekends or nights. Our entire team is virtual and our clients are casual, so no stuffy suits or fancy clothes are needed here!
This opportunity is for a remote part-time employee position to handle bookkeeping for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online. The role will start with 10-15 hrs/week and will increase gradually to 15-20 hrs/week, with the potential opportunity to increase to full time over time. This W-2 employee position offers an hourly rate of $20-25/hr. and reports to the Account Manager. We also offer education and office equipment stipends, as well as paid time off and paid volunteer time.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Enter daily or monthly sales summaries and deposits
2. Categorize expense transactions with receipt management
3. Perform monthly Bank and Credit Card account reconciliations
4. Ask clients questions about unclear transactions via Keeper
5. Prepare monthly journal entries, as needed
6. Check in with team Asana checklists and provide status updates
7. Map out Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new client work
8. Complete project updates in Notion database
9. Other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
1. Must have your own computer, phone and consistent internet access
2. Must reside in the United States in ET, CT or MST time zones.
3. Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO). QBO ProAdvisor Certification is a plus.
4. Comfortable working with Excel. Experience with Keeper.App, Asana, Notion, Slack, Google Drive & Gusto is a plus.
5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
6. Self-motivated with strong time management skills
7. Responsive and able to meet project deadlines
8. Not afraid to ask questions when you need clarification
9. Must be available to work sometime between M-Th, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. ET, which are our core team hours, and attend weekly team meeting on Tuesdays at 10:30 am ET.
