Bookkeeper/Payroll/Entry level tax preparer
We’re a long-established, tech-forward accounting firm seeking a remote Bookkeeper & Payroll Processor to support our growing base of small business clients (20 or fewer employees) across the U.S. This client-facing position is ideal for someone who’s detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing bookkeeping, payroll, and client communications in a professional, remote setting. What You’ll Do: • Maintain accurate books for multiple small business clients (A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations) • Process weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls • Understand payroll tax deposits, quarterly filings, W-2s, and 1099s • Prepare financial statements and support quarterly and year-end reporting • Serve as a primary client contact from 1:00–5:00 PM PST, answering calls and assisting with questions as needed. What We’re Looking For: • 7 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience (multi-client preferred) • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Xero, plus payroll systems like Gusto, ADP, or Intuit Payroll • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payroll compliance • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail • Must be U.S.-based and available during 1–5 PM Pacific Time as required to help with phones. • Willingness to learn how to prepare tax returns.
