Bookkeeper – Government / Fund Accounting (Part-Time, Remote)

Eula Blue is a CPA-backed governmental accounting and financial operations firm supporting public agencies, municipalities, and grant-funded organizations through disciplined bookkeeping, fund tracking, and audit-ready financial systems.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper as a planned hire for an upcoming municipal engagement requiring weekly accounting activity under modified accrual / GASB standards.
This role is ideal for a bookkeeper with experience in nonprofit, municipal, school, church, or grant-funded accounting environments who values clean reconciliations, organized records, and consistency.
You will work directly under the supervision of our Governmental Accounting Lead and Audit & Controls Lead.
Responsibilities
• Record all cash receipts and cash disbursements to the general ledger by program
• Track income and expenses by GL and program/fund
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Enter and allocate payroll information into the accounting system (bi-weekly)
• Maintain vendor files, W9 documentation, and deposit records by fiscal year (July 1 – June 30)
• Maintain organized, audit-ready accounting records and documentation
• Generate check data and support check runs as needed
• Record miscellaneous journal entries as directed by the Governmental Accounting Lead
• Assist in maintaining the fixed asset log as purchases occur
• Support month-end close by ensuring all transactions and reconciliations are complete
• Maintain historical files and accounting records to support audit schedules
• Participate in a weekly 15-minute check-in with the client
Qualifications
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years bookkeeping experience
• MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE supporting nonprofit, municipal, or grant-funded organizations
• Strong reconciliation discipline and attention to detail
• QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software proficiency
• Comfortable working under CPA supervision
• Highly organized, reliable, and consistent
• US-based and available for steady weekly work
Hours & Structure
• 15–20 hours per week
• Remote
• Long-term engagement contingent upon award
• Reports to Eula Blue’s Governmental Accounting team

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
