Bookkeeper - Construction (with Estimating Knowledge)
We are looking for Bookkeeper who will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting, job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll. A solid understanding of construction estimating is required to support budgeting and cost control efforts on projects.
Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
ā¢ Perform job costing and track expenses by project
ā¢ Process accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and vendor payments
ā¢ Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements
ā¢ Prepare financial reports, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheets
ā¢ Assist with estimating by reviewing plans, material take-offs, and subcontractor bids
ā¢ Support project managers with budget tracking and cost-to-complete analysis
ā¢ Manage payroll and ensure compliance with construction labor laws
bookkeeping experience, preferably in construction
Knowledge of construction accounting and job costing is required
Experience with estimating processes, bids, or take-offs is a strong plus
Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Buildertrend)
Strong Excel and data entry skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Excellent communication and organizational skills
