Bookkeeper - Construction

Our client is a leading commercial construction and development firm based in Dallas, TX. Specializing in high-quality building projects across the region. With a reputation built on integrity, precision, and long-term client relationships, our client is seeking a seasoned financial professional to support our continued growth and operational excellence. Responsibilities: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Utilize Sage 50 to manage and maintain accurate financial records. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and providing recommendations for improvement. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations. Coordinate with external CPA for audits, tax filings, and year-end close. Implement and maintain effective internal controls and financial procedures. Support project managers with job costing, budgeting, and financial tracking. Supervise and develop accounting staff (if applicable). Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required). Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a controller or senior accounting role. Proficiency with Sage 50 is required. Experience in the construction industry strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
