Our mission is to educate and empower families to ensure that children, youth and young adults with disabilities and special health care needs lead rich, active lives as full members of their schools and communities in... Pennsylvania. As an organization deeply committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, we are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds, skills, and experiences to help guide our mission.
Who We Are: At PEAL, we work to ensure that children and youth with disabilities and complex health care needs receive the support and services they need to thrive. A majority of our Board is composed of parents of children and youth with disabilities, and we actively encourage people with disabilities, people of color, and others from diverse communities to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend quarterly Board meetings (virtual/in-person).
Participate actively in at least one committee.
Contribute an annual gift aligned with your means.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
A strong commitment to the mission of serving children and youth with disabilities, including those with complex health care needs.
Personal or professional experience with disability, complex health care needs, and/or advocacy work (experience as a family member of a child with a disability is a plus).
A passion for promoting racial and disability justice.
A desire to collaborate and provide diverse perspectives on issues facing our communities.
