Biostatistician or Epidemiologist (PhD) – Clinical Research
The Jaeb Center for Health Research (JCHR) is seeking a PhD-level Biostatistician or Epidemiologist to join our clinical research team. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to high-impact clinical research while developing toward a future leadership role as a study investigator.
JCHR is a nonprofit academic research organization that designs and conducts multicenter clinical studies addressing major public health challenges, particularly in diabetes and eye disease. Our collaborative environment provides opportunities to work with leading investigators across academic institutions, government agencies, and industry.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will initially contribute to the design and statistical analysis of clinical research studies, working closely with investigators and multidisciplinary project teams. Over time, this role provides the opportunity to develop toward study leadership, including participation in investigator-initiated research and grant-funded collaborations with academic partners.
This position is particularly well suited for early- to mid-career PhD biostatisticians or epidemiologists interested in transitioning toward research leadership while maintaining strong involvement in applied statistical work.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide statistical expertise for clinical research studies, including study design, analysis planning, and interpretation of results.
• Develop statistical analysis plans and contribute to study protocols and manuscripts.
• Perform statistical analyses using SAS and other statistical software.
• Collaborate with investigators, project managers, and clinical teams.
• Contribute to scientific publications and presentations.
• Over time, develop increasing responsibility in study leadership and investigator roles, including participation in grant development and funded research projects.
Qualifications
• PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Several years of experience in clinical or health research preferred.
• Strong statistical programming skills, preferably in SAS.
• Experience working with clinical or observational health research data.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills.
• Interest in contributing to scientific leadership of research studies.
Career Development
This role is designed to provide a pathway toward study leadership for individuals interested in growing into investigator roles. JCHR provides mentorship, exposure to large multicenter research collaborations, and opportunities to contribute to grant-funded research with academic partners.
Salary will be commensurate with degree and experience and includes an excellent benefits package. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000, with total compensation, including benefits, ranging from $110,000 to $150,000. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position; relocation to the Tampa Bay area is not required.
