Billing Specialist: Patient Billing & Outreach

Lynx Dx is a healthcare organization seeking a Patient Billing & Outreach Specialist. This role involves managing the patient billing process and conducting outreach to ensure patients understand their financial responsibilities and available resources.ResponsibilitiesInitiate contact with patients via phone, email or mail to discuss statements, payments options and financial assistance program CARESProvide clear and concise explanations of charges, insurance payments and Lynx DX payment plansCommunicate effectively with patients, addressing any concerns or questions regarding the billing processAddress patient inquiries and concerns promptly and professionallyIdentify patients eligible for CARES financial assistance program and guide them through the application processRespond to patient/insurance inquiries via phone, email, or web regarding billing questions and Lynx Dx CARES programProvide accurate and up-to-date information about CARES eligibility, program guidelines, and resourcesHandle patient complaints or concerns with professionalism, providing appropriate solutions or escalating to management when necessaryCollaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and internal staff to address billing related concernsMaintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational guidelinesProvide patients with accurate information regarding their account status, resolve any questions, and process patient payments in a timely mannerLeverage and share knowledge with peers and cross-functional colleagues to ensure success across the organizationCreate and hold oneself and teammates accountable to an atmosphere of transparency, trust, and a commitment to successMaintain productivity goals and meet deadlines set by the Billing ManagerHandle ad hoc requests and special projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving business needsSkillsExcellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with a diverse populationCustomer Service Skills: Ability to handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalismOrganizational Skills: Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate client records and managing multiple cases at onceProblem Solving: Ability to assess patient/client needs and provide appropriate solutions or referralsComputer Literacy: Proficiency in using office software and databases to track cases and manage documentationTeamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, departments, and external partnersAssociate/Bachelor Degree and/or equivalent healthcare revenue cycle/billing operations experienceFamiliarity with laboratory billing, healthcare reimbursement, payer policies and regulatory compliance in revenue cycle/billing operationsPrevious experience in insurance billing, collections and customer service or a related fieldWorking knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding (preferred but not required)Company OverviewMyProstateScore 2.0 is a personalized, comprehensive, data-driven prostate cancer screening solution designed to predict the presence of clinically significant prostate cancer (Grade Group ≥2 or Gleason score ≥7).
