Bilingual Translator

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Translator fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English to support business operations for a temporary 6-month assignment. This role will be based offsite in the Charlotte, NC area and will focus on accurate translation and interpretation of both written and verbal communications to ensure effective collaboration between English- and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Provide accurate, real-time verbal interpretation between Mandarin Chinese and English during meetings, calls, and virtual discussions
ā¢ Translate written documents, including emails, reports, policies, and technical materials, ensuring clarity and cultural accuracy
ā¢ Review and proofread translated materials for accuracy, grammar, and consistency
ā¢ Serve as a communication bridge between teams, ensuring intent and tone are appropriately conveyed
ā¢ Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business and employee information
ā¢ Support cross-functional teams with translation needs as required
ā¢ Adapt translations to suit business context, industry terminology, and audience
Qualifications
ā¢ Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written) required
ā¢ Proven experience in translation and/or interpretation in a professional setting
ā¢ Strong understanding of cultural nuances and business communication practices in both languages
ā¢ Excellent written communication and proofreading skills
ā¢ Ability to work independently in a remote/offsite environment
ā¢ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
ā¢ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual communication tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom)
Preferred Qualifications
ā¢ Prior experience supporting corporate, manufacturing, or technical environments
ā¢ Certification in translation or interpretation (e.g., ATA or equivalent)
ā¢ Experience working in cross-cultural or international business settings
