Benefits and Compensation Coordinator

Steptoe LLP is looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Benefits and Compensation Coordinator to join their Total Rewards team. In this role, you’ll support key HR functions including leave administration, wellness programming, compensation support, and retirement plan operations while ensuring a smooth experience for employees.ResponsibilitiesSupport leave programs (FMLA, disability, etc.) and assist employees with documentation and return-to-work coordinationCollaborate with internal teams to ensure compliant and efficient leave processesConduct benefits orientations and respond to employee questions on health and retirement plansAssist with benefits enrollments, changes, and vendor issue resolutionContribute to compensation activities including salary surveys and market pricingCoordinate logistics and communications for wellness programs and eventsSupport 401(k) operations, including contributions, reporting, and vendor coordinationSkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in HR or a related field1-2 years in a role in HR, benefits, or compensationFamiliarity with Microsoft Excel for basic data tracking and reporting (e.g., sorting, filtering, simple formulas)Clear, professional communication skills, written and verbalAbility to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and discretionWorking knowledge of benefits regulations (ERISA, FMLA, ADA, etc.)A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvementComfort working independently and collaboratively across teamsBenefitsMedicalDentalVisionLifeDisabilityDependent careHealth care flexible spending accounts401K PlanProfit-SharingPaid Time-OffRobust Wellness ProgramCompany OverviewIn more than 100 years of practice, Steptoe* has earned an international reputation for vigorous representation of clients before governmental agencies, successful advocacy in litigation and arbitration, and creative and practical advice in structuring business transactions.
