Behavioral Health Specialist
Job Overview
Seeking a skilled and compassionate master's-level mental health clinician to provide evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals experiencing chronic pain, depression, and anxiety. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patients' lives through integrated behavioral health care with patients who have experienced life altering injuries. Candidate must be licensed counselor in Maine (or license in process/near).
Position will provide individual and/or group therapy services to patients managing the complex intersection of chronic pain and mental health conditions. This role requires a clinician who understands the biopsychosocial model of pain and can deliver evidence-based interventions that address both psychological distress and pain-related disability in relation to occupational injury. Support, supervision and training will be provided to assist in this process.
Duties (may include the following, based on applicant strengths)
• Service orientation towards patients with chronic pain, depression, and anxiety disorders
• Provide individual psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities (CBT, ACT, DBT skills, mindfulness-based interventions)
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable, functional goals
• Utilize validated assessment tools to monitor treatment progress and outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including physicians, physical therapists, attorneys, adjusters and nurse case managers
• Facilitate chronic pain management groups and psychoeducational programs
• Provide brief interventions and care coordination as part of integrated primary care or pain management programs
Requirements
• Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
• State of Maine license to practice counseling
Part time hours to start, room to grow for right candidate.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $80.00 - $140.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
