Behavioral Health Billing Specialist, Denial Follow-Up & A/R Support (Contract)
Description: I am a solo behavioral health provider using TherapyNotes and am seeking an experienced medical biller for denied claim follow-up and resubmission only. I submit all claims myself through TherapyNotes and do not need full revenue cycle management. The role involves reviewing denied or unpaid claims, contacting payers as needed, correcting and resubmitting claims, and documenting outcomes. My practice averages approximately 120 claims per month with a relatively low denial rate. This is a remote, contract position with a predictable workload and a collaborative, low-stress structure. Scope of Work: Follow up on denied or unpaid claims. Correct and resubmit claims as appropriate. Contact insurance payers regarding claim status or underpayments. Track outcomes and provide a brief monthly summary of claims worked and resolution status. Requirements: Demonstrated experience in billing for behavioral health or therapy practices. Comfort working within TherapyNotes or using exported A/R reports. Strong understanding of common commercial payers and denial reasons. Reliable communication and documentation practices. HIPAA-compliant workflow. Compensation: Flat monthly fee preferred, capped at $350 per month, or hourly arrangement within that cap. Approximately 4ā8 hours of work per month.
