Beauty Product Development Chemist

Our client, a rapidly growing and innovative beauty brand, is seeking a talented and creative Beauty Product Development Chemist to join their dynamic team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere, with a focus on supporting product development initiatives for the Houston, Texas, US market and beyond. You will be responsible for the research, formulation, and development of new cosmetic and personal care products, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, efficacy, and safety. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in cosmetic formulation and product development. You should possess a strong understanding of raw materials, ingredient functions, and regulatory compliance within the beauty industry. Key responsibilities include developing innovative formulations for skincare, haircare, and color cosmetics; conducting stability and compatibility testing; troubleshooting formulation issues; and scaling up laboratory formulas for manufacturing. You will also collaborate closely with marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing teams to bring new products from concept to commercialization. Experience with natural and organic formulations is a plus. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are essential. You must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and communicate technical information clearly and concisely. Staying abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and consumer preferences is crucial for success in this role.
