About the position
United Security Bank is seeking a part-time Teller for their San Joaquin branch. The role involves cash handling and processing various transactions, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance with bank policies. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in banking or retail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Ā Identify customers' needs and introduce them to appropriate bank services through cross-selling efforts.

Ā Accept deposits to checking, savings, and other accounts.

Ā Prepare cash reports for deposits over governmental maximums.
,
Ā Cash checks and handle account withdrawals.
,
Ā Sell cashier's checks, money orders, gift cards, and travel cards.
,
Ā Accept Fast-Cash, Master Charge, Visa, and loan payments.
,
Ā List and approve cash pay items.
,
Ā Verify assigned cash drawer from and to the vault.
,
Ā Balance cash in the cash drawer and maintain it within the maximum prescribed by Bank policy.
,
Ā Obtain supervisor's approval to process items larger than approval limits.
,
Ā During slow periods, fill in by processing checking account statements and similar activities.
,
Ā Answer telephone and perform other clerical Teller duties.
,
Ā Perform related CSR assignments or as necessary for a balanced workflow.
,
Ā Comply with all Bank rules and policies applicable to each regular or assigned task.

Ā Scan work for proof.
,
Ā Balance ATM if applicable.
,
Ā Drive-up if applicable.
Requirements
Ā High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
,
Ā Up to one year of banking operations experience as a teller or in other bank operation jobs preferred.
,
Ā Ability to perform accurately in approach to work output.
,
Ā Ability to count and balance cash rapidly and accurately and to locate own errors.
,
Ā Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
,
Ā Basic language ability in English.
,
Ā Ability to accurately work with numbers and perform arithmetic calculations.
,
Ā Ability to learn the accurate and effective use of a 10-key adding machine and other office machines.
,
Ā Ability to learn the use of personal computers and specific software for job assignments.
,
Ā Ability to work courteously and effectively with Bank customers and staff members in person or on the telephone.
,
Ā Must be able to stand for extended periods at the teller window.
