Backend & Integration Developer (Remote, Contract)
We're looking for a backend-focused developer to support our Lead Developer in building and maintaining data integrations and backend services. This is a hands-on role for a generalist who prefers vanilla code over heavy frameworks. You'll spend your time moving data between systems, writing SQL, and building lightweight workers.
What You'll Work With
ā¢ Infrastructure: Cloudflare Workers/Pages, cron scripts
ā¢ Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL), Airtable
ā¢ Languages: Vanilla JS, PHP, HTML, CSS
ā¢ Legacy systems: WordPress/WooCommerce (sysadmin side), Shopify (backend API)
What You'll Do
ā¢ Build and maintain integrations between Shopify, WooCommerce, Airtable, and Supabase
ā¢ Develop lightweight backend services on Cloudflare Workers
ā¢ Approach projects database-first ā structure before UI
ā¢ Handle basic UI tasks using minimal frameworks on Cloudflare Pages/Workers
ā¢ Monitor cron scripts and troubleshoot data flow issues
ā¢ General data maintenance across Airtable and spreadsheets
What You Bring
ā¢ Comfort working in a terminal (SSH/CLI)
ā¢ Solid understanding of SQL and relational database design
ā¢ Clean Vanilla JS and PHP
ā¢ Experience with API-based integrations (Shopify and WooCommerce preferred)
