Backend Engineer

Learn more about how Madhive and Frequence work together here.We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join one of our cross-functional Agile development teams. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to build scalable, high-quality software while continuously improving our systems and processes.Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, a sense of ownership, and a passion for building reliable and efficient backend systems. You will have opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility based on your experience and contributions.What you’ll do:Design, develop, and optimize backend systems that solve complex problems with simple, scalable solutions.Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.Debug and troubleshoot production issues to maintain system reliability.Contribute to the development of APIs and services, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.Collaborate closely with teammates through code reviews and technical discussions.Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to the evolution of our platform.Improve observability, monitoring, and system performance.Take ownership of features, modules, or systems, driving technical improvements and reducing technical debt.Engage with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.Who you are:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.2-5 years experience in backend or full-stack software development, with a track record of delivering high-quality software.Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Go, C#, Java, Kotlin, Rust).Knowledge of software design patterns and API development (REST, gRPC).Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and distributed systems.Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.Ability to write and review technical documentation.Comfortable working in a collaborative, Agile environment.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical concepts with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.Nice to have, but not required:Experience with Golang.Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Knowledge of AdTech or experience in a similar domain.Why Frequence?Frequence is a dynamic, diverse, innovative, and friendly place to work.
