Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer
Description: We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the design, configuration, and maintenance of a large enterprise virtual desktop (VDI) environment. This role serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for troubleshooting complex performance issues across the organization and requires deep experience in system design, integration, and process automation/improvement. The ideal candidate will also be well versed in networking, storage, Azure AD, and Intune. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining VDI solutions at scale. They should be a motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of excelling both independently and within a team. A passion for operational excellence, along with strong interpersonal and professional soft skills, is essential. • In addition to architecting and designing, the VDI Engineer will provide TIER 3/4 support to system administrators in order to resolve VDI issues. • Provide guidance on optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies. • Offers endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks on Virtual Desktop related tasks. • Maintains an Advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure-related technologies. • Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders. • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. • Conducts trade studies and makes recommendations on solutions and "make buy" decisions. Requirements: Required Skills: • Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) • Master’s degree + 7 years experience OR 16 years experience • Experience in Microsoft Azure, Azure Networking, Storage and Virtual Desktops • Experience managing and administering Windows Servers • Experience with Azure AD, Intune, FSLogix • Experience in VDI profile management • Endpoint protection, policy management and application of STIGs · AVD integration with Office 365 services • Desktop Software provisioning and Support Services • Collaborate and work well in a team environment Desired Skills • Some experience (1+ years’) with any or all of these products or technologies: MS SQL, Puppet, Chef, Qualys, SCCM, Intune, MDM solutions (again, nice to have, not required) • Some experience (1+ years’) setup and integration with IIS, SQL Server • Some experience (2+ years’) with Azure Security Tools (e.g. Sentinel) Apply tot his job
