Role: AWS Cloud Engineer - AWS Networking / VPC/ Transit Gateway Engineering
Location: Remote, must be in Detroit MI
Duration: 6 - 12 months
Pay rate: $65-75/hour W2 Only, client will not consider C2C
Job overview:
The AWS Cloud Engineering III role is a hands-on technical position focused on day-to-day cloud platform operations including AWS account lifecycle management, infrastructure provisioning, VPC networking, security controls enforcement, and operational support.
Must Haves:
ā¢ AWS VPC architecture and network design patterns (multi-CIDR VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NACLs)
ā¢ Cloud security controls: encryption, network isolation, identity management, policy enforcement
ā¢ Elastic Load Balancing (ALB, NLB) ā listener rules, target groups, TLS termination
ā¢ Linux/macOS command-line proficiency
ā¢ NAT Gateway, VPC endpoints (interface and gateway), and AWS PrivateLink configuration
ā¢ Proficiency in Python, Bash/Shell scripting
ā¢ Route53 DNS architecture (private hosted zones, resolver rules, hybrid DNS)
ā¢ Transit Gateway design, attachments, route table propagation, and cross-account connectivity
ā¢ Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/SSL, and network troubleshooting (flow logs, packet captures, traceroute)
Nice to have: AWS Certifications
