AVP – Accounting Policy | Financial Services
I’m partnering with a highly scaled, fast-growing financial services platform with a strong presence across insurance, asset management, and structured credit. The firm has built a sophisticated investment platform spanning alternatives, structured products, and institutional strategies.
This is a senior, high-impact role within the Accounting Policy / Transaction Advisory function, offering direct exposure to complex investment activity and strategic decision-making.
What you’ll be doing:
• Lead technical accounting research across US GAAP (and exposure to Statutory) for complex investment structures
• Draft accounting memos and position papers for senior leadership and auditors
• Advise on structured products, alternatives, CLOs, and other sophisticated investment classes
• Partner closely with investment teams on new transactions and portfolio strategies
• Monitor and interpret new accounting guidance (FASB, NAIC, etc.) and drive implementation
• Oversee SOX controls tied to investment accounting policy
• Lead high-priority, cross-functional technical accounting projects
What they’re looking for:
• 8+ years of technical accounting and/or advisory experience
• Financial services background required (insurance, asset management, banking, or credit)
• Strong experience with investments, financial instruments, and complex transactions
• Deep US GAAP expertise (Statutory is a plus)
• CPA strongly preferred
• Big 4 / National Office experience is a plus
