About the position

The Assistant Vice President, Consumer Bank Lifecycle Marketing at Synchrony is a pivotal role designed for individuals passionate about customer marketing within a growing online banking environment. This position is integral to the Bank Marketing team, which is responsible for bringing innovative savings products to life through effective customer messaging aimed at enhancing customer relationships and driving retention. The successful candidate will oversee segments of the customer lifecycle strategy, focusing on increasing share of wallet and expanding overall banking relationships. This role requires collaboration with internal Centers of Excellence (COE) teams to execute direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing communications that align with retention and deposit growth goals for the Consumer Bank. In this role, the AVP will manage marketing campaigns from inception to execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and capturing necessary approvals from legal, compliance, and stakeholders. The position involves interfacing with cross-functional teams to develop and manage customer communications across various channels, including statement messages, direct mail, email, SMS, mobile marketing, and paid media. The AVP will also serve as the main point of contact for affinity partners, creating and executing marketing plans that resonate with customers. Additionally, the role requires working closely with the personalization team to explore new use cases for lifecycle marketing across all channels, ensuring a consistent customer experience from in-market assets to website interactions. The AVP will be responsible for understanding existing customer behaviors and developing targeted messaging to enhance retention and increase deposit balances. Reporting on lifecycle marketing efforts to senior leadership is also a key responsibility, along with active participation in relevant meetings and timely execution of campaigns. The role may require occasional travel, estimated at around 10%.

Responsibilities
• Manage marketing campaigns from design to execution, ensuring adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements.

• Interface with internal cross-functional teams to develop and manage customer communications across various channels.

• Serve as the main point of contact for affinity partners and create/execute marketing plans.

• Partner with personalization team to explore new use cases for lifecycle marketing across all channels.

• Work with Brand and Web teams to ensure a consistent customer experience across all marketing assets.
,
• Understand existing Bank customer behaviors and develop messaging to increase retention and deposit balances.
,
• Prepare and present reporting of lifecycle efforts to senior leadership.
,
• Participate actively in all relevant meetings and ensure timely, on-budget execution of campaigns.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of marketing experience, or a High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of marketing experience in lieu of a Bachelor's.

• Minimum of 3 years experience in financial services or banking lifecycle marketing across multiple customer channels.
,
• At least 2 years managing large scale projects.
,
• Proficient in the use of MS Office product suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
