Aviation Crew Scheduling Specialist/Paralegal

Remote Full-time
About the position

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world, is seeking an experienced Paralegal for its Memphis, Tennessee office. This position is crucial in providing contractual and legal research support while assisting in the analysis of contractual disputes. The Paralegal will work under general supervision and within the limitations of Association policy, collaborating closely with MEC officers, representatives, and committee volunteers. The role involves gathering information and evidence to review and analyze potential contract issues, as well as supporting the development of strategies and tactics for resolution. In addition to interacting with pilot members to assess potential disputes under the collective bargaining agreement, the Paralegal will support pilot efforts to informally resolve disputes with management. This includes handling contractual appeals of unresolved disputes, processing cases to the System Board of Adjustment, preparing cases for the Board, and drafting post-hearing briefs. The Paralegal will also provide support in the preparation and processing of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) enforcement cases at all stages, including appeals and filing appeal briefs. The role requires individual responsibility and strong administrative abilities to ensure that tasks are completed as assigned and that important deadlines are met. The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the representation of airline pilots while working in a supportive and inclusive environment. ALPA is committed to diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from all qualified individuals, including minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities.
