SKAN US, Inc., a world leader in pharmaceutical isolators, based in Raleigh, NC is accepting applications for the position of Automation Engineer. This position is based out of our SKAN US facility. The position reports to the Automation Engineering Supervisor. SKAN, headquartered in Switzerland with a strong US presence, is a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry for its cleanroom equipment. This equipment is routinely used in vaccine development, production of pharmaceutical products, and other critical operations to ensure the safety and quality of pharmaceutical drugs. Our US base is comprised of a parts business, a field service/assembly team, a microbiology team, a documentation qualification department, and a field qualification team, among other administrative functions. SKAN is experiencing rapid growth and is looking forward to welcoming several members to the SKAN family! Field Activities • Supporting the commissioning of SKAN equipment (Including I/O check, finetuning, debugging and Qualification tasks. • Code and APC backup/restore, according SKAN process • Experience with Virtual Machines • Support for customer service support organization • Supporting trouble shooting at customer side • Trouble shooting as remote support • Monitoring the Automation Service email inbox • Creating and delegating automation service tickets • Maintaining and operating the automation test equipment in the office • Traveling time 50 – 75 % Administrative • Handle all Microsoft standard applications (Word, Excel, PP, Visio, etc.) Special Tasks/ Responsibilities • Allen Bradley Controllogix • Allen Bradley Factory Talk • Siemens S7/TIA • Zenon knowledge is a plus • Basic SQL Database Management knowledge is a plus Experience Needed • At least 1-2 years work with Allen Bradley tools or Siemens Qualifications Needed • Hold a bachelor degree in Automation/Electrical Engineering or related field • Fluent in written and spoken English, knowledge of German is a plus Physical Requirements • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. • Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 15 – 25 pounds. • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed, which may involve extended periods of walking or standing. • Capable of occasional bending, kneeling, or reaching while working on machinery or automation systems What can we offer you? • An open corporate culture and teamwork • Short decision-making paths and flat hierarchies • Intensive orientation and training programs through our SKAN Academy • Excellent base salary with potential annual bonus opportunity • Major medical, dental and vision for employee and family • Short-term and long-term disability for employees • 401K with 100% company match up to 6% immediately vested • 15 paid vacation days and nine observed company holidays per year, generous rollover policy If you have any questions, please contact our HR responsible via [email protected]
