About the position

As an Auto Damage Trainee at GEICO, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides exceptional customer service during some of the most challenging times for our clients. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the auto damage adjusting field. You will undergo industry-leading, paid training that will equip you with the necessary skills to assess vehicle damage, estimate repair costs, and negotiate settlements effectively. The position requires flexibility, as you may work from various locations including your home, body shops, virtual estimating centers, or on the road. Your ability to adapt to different environments will be crucial in this role. In this position, you will be responsible for inspecting and assessing vehicle damage resulting from various types of accidents. You will utilize the latest tools and technology in auto-adjusting to provide accurate estimates and work collaboratively with other adjusters, body shops, rental partners, and parts providers. The role is not just about technical skills; it also requires a compassionate approach to customer service, as you will be assisting clients during stressful situations. Responsibilities
• Inspect and assess vehicle damage caused by all types of accidents.

• Estimate vehicle repair costs and negotiate equitable settlements.

• Partner with other adjusters and supervisors to work with body shops, rental partners, and parts providers.

• Utilize the latest auto-adjusting tools and technology to assist customers effectively.

• Continuously grow skills and knowledge in the auto damage adjusting field.

Requirements
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for at least the past 3 consecutive years.
,
• Ability to maintain applicable state and federal certifications and permits.
,
• Willingness to be flexible with primary work location, including remote or in-office work.
,
• Solid computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
,
• Effective attention to detail and decision-making skills.
,
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to improve.

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; college degree or currently pursuing preferred.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in customer service or a related field.
