Position Overview
We are seeking a CPA-certified Audit Manager to lead client engagements focused on nonprofit audit, compliance, and advisory services. This fully remote position operates on Eastern Time Zone business hours and offers meaningful client impact without the excessive overtime typical of public accounting.
The Audit Manager will oversee client engagements, supervise staff, and serve as a strategic advisor to nonprofit leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Manage multiple nonprofit client engagements from planning through completion
β’ Oversee financial statement audits and audit readiness engagements
β’ Review workpapers and ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit reporting standards
β’ Advise clients on internal controls, risk mitigation, and process improvements
β’ Support clients with federal grant compliance (Uniform Guidance)
β’ Serve as primary client contact and build long-term relationships
β’ Mentor and supervise senior and staff-level team members
β’ Partner with firm leadership on practice development initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
β’ Active CPA license (Required)
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or related field
β’ 5+ years of audit experience (public accounting experience required)
β’ Experience auditing nonprofit organizations
β’ Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting
β’ Experience leading engagements and supervising staff
Preferred:
β’ Experience with Single Audits (Uniform Guidance)
β’ Client-facing advisory experience
β’ Prior experience managing multiple engagements simultaneously
