About the position The Audiologist position at Ochsner Health involves administering diagnostic audiological exams, counseling patients and families regarding test results, and providing treatment options for hearing and balance disorders. The role requires performing audiological services for individuals of all ages, evaluating and dispensing hearing aids and cochlear implants, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This position is essential in delivering high-quality hearing healthcare and improving patient outcomes. Responsibilities • Administer a variety of diagnostic audiological exams. • Counsel patients, families, and physicians regarding test results. • Review options that best meet patients' hearing healthcare needs. • Perform audiological services in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hearing and balance disorders. • Evaluate, order, and dispense hearing aids and cochlear implants. • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic audiological evaluations and newborn hearing screenings. • Assess candidacy of patients with hearing loss for hearing aids and implantable devices. • Facilitate departmental practice by scheduling and coordinating appointments. • Assist in the orientation and training of new employees as assigned. • Fit and calibrate hearing aids for patients and conduct auditory brainstem response evaluations as needed. Requirements • Master's degree in Audiology or Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in state of practice. • 1 year of experience in the audiology field. • Current hearing aid license in state of practice. Nice-to-haves • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA. • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
