Overview

An established law firm specializing in creditors' rights across multiple states is seeking an Associate Attorney licensed and located in Indiana (near South Bend) to join their retail consumer collections team. The firm has been operating since 1994 and focuses on providing high-quality legal services with fair and compassionate resolutions for consumers.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement case-level litigation strategies using knowledge of creditor’s rights and collections laws
Represent clients zealously at court proceedings throughout Indiana
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage dockets, prepare pleadings, and ensure efficient case management
Negotiate settlements with defendants and opposing counsel, defend against counterclaims, and handle escalated litigation matters
Monitor changes in laws and regulations, educate team members, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
Utilize industry technology to support litigation and case management
Travel regionally to appear in courts across Indiana

Requirements

Juris Doctorate degree
Licensed to practice law in Indiana and in good standing with the Indiana Bar Association
1-3 years of experience in creditor’s rights and civil litigation
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work dependably and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel regionally within Indiana
Ability to pass a thorough background review process
