Job Posting :Since 1953, Ferguson has been a source of quality supplies for a variety of industries.Together We Build Better infrastructure, better homes and better businesses.We exist to make our customers' complex projects simple, successful, and sustainable.We proactively solve problems, adapt and grow to continuously serve our customers, communities and each other.Ferguson, a Fortune 500 company, is proud to provide best-in-class products, service and capabilities across the following industries :Commercial / Mechanical, Facilities Supply, Fire and Fabrication, HVAC, Industrial, Residential Trade, Residential Building and Remodel, Waterworks and Residential Digital Commerce.Ferguson has approximately 36,000 associates across 1,700 locations.Ferguson is a community of proud associates who operate with the shared purpose of building something meaningful.You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in.Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill a tremendous career opportunity for a telecommute Associate System Administrator in Newport News, VA!We are looking for a proactive and tech-savvy Associate System Administrator to join our IT team.This role focuses on supporting and managing the Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365 environments.Ideal for recent graduates or junior professionals eager to grow in systems administration and Exchange Administration.Location :This position is remote for candidates located in the local Newport News, VA / Hampton Roads area.While primarily remote, the role includes rotational on-site support approximately once every 6-8 weeks, and initial onboarding will take place on-site during the first few weeks.Responsibilities :Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft Outlook and Exchange Online including hybrid Exchange environments.Assist with the lifecycle of mailboxes, distribution groups, public folders, and shared mailboxes.Monitor and respond to support tickets, documenting issues and resolutions accurately.Troubleshoot device connectivity, software, and hardware issues.Maintain inventory records for hardware and software assets.Support IT projects including hardware refreshes, system upgrades, and rollout of new technologies.Assist with system backups and routine maintenance schedules.Be a part of an on-call rotation and possibly work two weekends a year for maintenance.Qualifications :Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field -- or equivalent hands-on experience.In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange (both on-premises and Exchange Online) preferred.Experience with Active Directory.Understanding of and experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.Familiarity with other M365 applications like SharePoint and Teams.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Willingness to learn new tools and adapt to evolving technologies.Preferred (Not Required) :Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified :Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent.Exchange Admin Center (EAC) - Proficiency in managing both On-Prem and Cloud Exchange environments.Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk, Zendesk).Familiarity with ITIL practices or Help Desk workflows.Understanding of phone routing systems such as Genesys, Cisco, etc.At Ferguson, we care for each other.We value our well-being just as much as our hard work.We are committed to a holistic approach towards benefits plans and programs that support the mental, physical and financial well-being of our associates.Our competitive offering not only includes benefits like health, dental, vision, paid time off, life insurance and a 401(k) with a company match, but our associates also enjoy additional meaningful and inclusive enhancements that are adaptable to their diverse situations and needs, including mental health coverage, gender affirming and family building benefits, paid parental leave, associate discounts, community involvement opportunities and more!Pay Range :$4,387.02 - $7,681.62ORThis role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.Ferguson complies with all wage regulations.The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements..
