An Associate Software Engineer (ASWE), receives direction from systems engineers, program managers, and senior software engineers. The ASWE supports agile software development teams and system integration teams in the development, validation, and management of custom software components.

Due to government clearance requirements, this position requires that the applicant be a United States Citizen. Legal residents do not meet this requirement. All work will be performed on-site in person at a secure facility. This is not a remote work position.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable desktop applications.
• Define, build, test, and deploy scalable web applications and/or microservices.
• Develop reusable, componentized UIs.
• Transforming or transferring data.
• Translating data into different formats.
• Work in a DevSecOps environment.
• Participate in agile development ceremonies (Sprint Planning, backlog grooming, story points estimation, review/retrospective, demo).
• Identify defects and system enhancements associated with the software being developed.
• Collaborate with other software engineers, systems engineers and systems integrators.
• Learning and using Lone Star Analysis software and toolsets (Evolved AI, TruNav, TruSolveTM).
• Documenting work done so that others can understand what has been done.
• Preparing data for meetings and presentations.
• Adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to company data guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Requirements
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance within 12 months from hire date. This requires US citizenship and passing a counter-intelligence background investigation which may include a polygraph.

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Education & Experience
• Degree, or imminent degree award, in related field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics) OR an unrelated degree, or imminent degree award, and equivalent experience demonstrating software development in a government, scientific, or technical environment.
• 2+ years' experience in software development with at least two programming languages, one of which must be from the following list: C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, or Rust.

Additional Desirable Qualities
• Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles.
• Knowledge and use of CI/CD, Agile/Scrum and Automated Testing technologies.
• Experience using and developing in the Linux operating system.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration.
• Understanding or experience with Scale Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Understanding or experience with DevSecOps or DevOps
• Understanding or experience with using Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, etc.)
• Ability to work independently in an Agile software development environment and be able to provide feedback for process improvement.
• Service Oriented Architecture Experience.
• Experience developing for Cloud Environments.
• Experience in maintaining compliance in a regulated industry.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Experience with AFSIM.
