Associate Producer- Temporary
New York Public Radio is seeking an early-career journalist to join their Digital News & Audience team as a Temporary Associate Producer. This role focuses on supporting local journalism through digital production and audience engagement, working closely with producers and editors to create content for various platforms.ResponsibilitiesSupport the digital production of WNYC’s local shows by writing, editing, and publishing web and social content that reflects the newsroom’s reporting and on-air conversationsPitch digital-first story ideas and audience engagement concepts tied to daily news coverage and show programmingCollaborate with producers and editors to prepare digital content that extends reporting beyond the broadcast, including newsletters, social posts, and short-form videoHelp research, write, and assemble newsletters, including The Brian Lehrer Show newsletter and other show-related email products, under the direction of editorsAssist with gathering, selecting, and organizing listener questions, responses, and other audience contributions for use across platformsProduce and edit basic digital assets, including social posts and short videos, in collaboration with the Digital News & Audience teamParticipate in editorial meetings and contribute ideas about framing, headlines, presentation, and audience utilitySupport organization-wide digital projects as assigned and work collaboratively with colleagues across the newsroomSkillsSome professional or educational experience in journalism, such as a degree program, certificate program, internship, or student media experienceStrong writing skills and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately on deadlineInterest in local news and issues affecting New York City and the surrounding regionCuriosity about how journalism is produced and presented across platformsAbility to manage multiple assignments and collaborate effectively with editors, producers, and peersCommitment to accurate, ethical, and inclusive journalismFamiliarity with social media, content management systems, or basic video editing tools is helpful but not requiredBenefitsBenefitsCompany OverviewNew York Public Radio's Radiolab is a show about wonde It was founded in 2010, and is headquartered in New York, New York, USA, with a workforce of 201-500 employees.
