Associate Legal Counsel
Job Description: • Proactively handling a broad range of legal and compliance matters associated with the Acute Care business unit • Working closely with business unit leadership, functional partners, and outside counsel on a variety of critical matters for the division • Bring a solutions-oriented approach to solving complex issues • Provide analysis and timely counsel on legal, regulatory and compliance issues • Independently draft, review, negotiate and advise on a variety of agreements • Analyze and provide clear and concise guidance on laws, rules, regulations, and Stryker policies • Collaborate with lawyers and other professionals from Stryker’s Centers of Expertise to manage a variety of significant matters • Assist in managing litigation and pre-litigation disputes • Review marketing, promotional and scientific activities and related materials for compliance • Seek to streamline and continuously improve legal and compliance services across the organization • Partner closely with the compliance team to assist in managing a robust compliance program • Provide in-house training and education to business stakeholders to enhance awareness and understanding of applicable laws, regulations and Stryker policies Requirements: • Bachelor's degree • Juris Doctor (JD) • License to practice Law in the US • 10+ years of work experience • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment and building relationships of trust with key stakeholders • Strong analytical, drafting, and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated commitment to integrity and accountability • Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions is highly desirable • Commercial Contract Experience • In-house experience at a medical technology or pharmaceutical company • Healthcare industry knowledge or background • Change communications or change management experience • Strong judgment, communication skills, professional demeanor and business acumen • Experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment.
