Associate Group Underwriter

Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada is seeking an Associate Group Underwriter. The role involves assessing and managing risk by analyzing data related to customer requests and new business opportunities, while providing insights and solutions to client problems.ResponsibilitiesAssess and manage risk by analyzing data relating to requests from existing customers or new business opportunitiesProvide insights and creative solutions to help solve existing or new client problems when issues ariseSet pricing to renewal in-force contracts and provide quotations for new business opportunitiesMeet Sun Life’s quality and service standards and respecting deadlinesDevelop a good understanding of the administrative, contractual and legislative Group Benefits environmentDevelop a strong understanding of Sun Life’s products and services, underwriting guidelines, systems and tools, pricing methodologies and market feedbacksPartner with the sales and service team to provide outstanding client services and achieve profitability objectivesSkillsBilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwideStrong knowledge in Microsoft SuiteSolid analytical, mathematical and problem solving skillsHave a structured and systematic approach aimed at making a unique contribution to various emergency situations in compliance with internal policies and directivesAttention to detailsAbility to work both independently and as a member of a team, under pressure, in an organized, efficient and autonomous mannerPositive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentExcellent interpersonal skillsDemonstrated communication and negotiation skills both written and verbalGroup Benefit knowledge is an assetSTEM-related degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Administration, Finance or Accounting degree or equivalent experienceCEBS certificate is an assetBenefitsCare Days available for self-care or care of others (i.e., family or others you may support) and Sick Days to support your well-being.Flexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your familyPension Plan participation starts immediately, and you are automatically enrolled.
