Ancestry is seeking an early career associate genealogist who already speaks, reads, and writes advanced or fluent German, and is eager to develop genealogical expertise in the German-speaking world and General US. The candidate will conduct research for projects from start to finish, aligning with client expectations under the supervision of a research manager (RM) for the two geographic and cultural zones. Successful associate genealogists are disciplined, focused, flexible, strong in technology, growth-minded, and detail-oriented. What you will do: Collaborate with Research Managers to complete tasks and support client goals. Conduct genealogical research in German-speaking and General US regions using proper methods. Utilize advanced German skills for research and client communications. Create and maintain research trees, journals, and accurate citations. Write clear, client-facing research reports with minimal supervision. Manage tasks to meet deadlines, billable hour goals, and provide timely updates. Who you are : Fluent or advanced German speaker (reading, writing, speaking). Early career genealogist eager to specialize in Germanic and US research. Detail-oriented with strong analytical evaluation skills. Skilled writer of client updates and research documentation. Effective time/project manager able to work independently. As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, we are pleased to share the base salary range for this position:$ 20.18 to $25.23 per hour, with eligibility for bonus, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision. Actual salary will depend on location and experience.
