Northwell Health is seeking an Associate Financial Services Representative to provide exceptional customer service and support in financial operations. The role involves verifying insurance benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations, and addressing customer inquiries related to billing and payment plans.ResponsibilitiesAssists in the verification of insurance benefits for services prior to admissionObtains timely pre-authorization for all outpatient and inpatient servicesCreate flawless experiences for our customers by addressing customer inquiries and resolving service issues that include but are not limited to: researching and analyzing accounts receivable and outstanding balances, negotiating and advising on the collection of overdue bills and payment plans, collecting overdue payments, understanding financial assistance offerings, managing and resolving customer disputesHelps in coordinating inpatient billingProvides support for all finance issues and ensures that activities occur in compliance with appropriate regulations and contractual obligationsAssists in patient billing and maintaining pertinent records as required for maintenance of certificationHelps in coordinating with nursing staff in planning and organizing program activitiesMajority of contact is internal and/or customer service orientedWork and tasks are most often routine, structured and transactional in nature; work requires minimal variance from guidelines and proceduresMakes routine decisions regarding assigned task within defined parameters, often limited and confined to on-going mattersElevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior team members for direction or subject matter expertisePrioritizes basic tasks; priorities typically guided by standard practices or by othersEnsures timely and accurate performance of responsibilities for a single area or group of closely related tasksPerforms related duties as required.
