The Associate External Manufacturing Engineer will support the Robotics and Digital Solutions organization, collaborating across various teams to enhance manufacturing processes and implement improvements for medical devices.ResponsibilitiesAssist in end-to-end process solution deployment, from feasibility to verification/validation, including creating fixturing/tooling for Instrument Manufacturing & Assembly processes (catheter and other devices)Cross-functional collaboration and deployment of automation solutions to stream-line various processes: including, but not limited to lamination, braiding, tipping, soldering, final inspection, and pouching/boxing/label printing processesDocument and execute equipment/process validation protocols & reportsStudy existing processes to implement improvements on new productsSkillsA minimum of a Bachelors degree in an Engineering disciplineProfessional experience outside of degree programKnowledge of good manufacturing practices and documentationExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience in a regulated industry; medical device experience is a plusKnowledge of computer programs in addition to Microsoft office productsSelf-starter with a desire to engage in proactive learning and remain productive with supervision from more senior engineersMust be highly organized with the ability to drive projects/tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize projects and tasksExperience in process/product validationsA degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Industrial EngineeringBackground in various catheter manufacturing related processes such as Braiding, Lamination, Soldering, Adhesive Bonding, Tipping, etcExperience with commercial or pilot manufacturing lines & technical report writingFamiliarized with manufacturing processes equipment, such as ultrasonic welders, leak testers, pouch sealers, etcKnowledge of a combination of process engineering tools such as DOE's, Statistical Methods, CAD (Solid-works/Pro-E/AutoCAD), GD&T, Process Simulation, Failure Analysis Techniques (Fault tree, Fish Bone Diagram)BenefitsSubject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Companyβs consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).This position is eligible to participate in the Companyβs long-term incentive program.Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:Vacation β120 hours per calendar yearSick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado β48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington β56 hours per calendar yearHoliday pay, including Floating Holidays β13 days per calendar yearWork, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar yearParental Leave β 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a childBereavement Leave β 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar yearCaregiver Leave β 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 daysVolunteer Leave β 32 hours per calendar yearMilitary Spouse Time-Off β 80 hours per calendar yearCompany OverviewAt Johnson & Johnson, we believe health is everything.
