Associate Drafter
RCS Staffing has an immediate need for an Associate Designer in Remote. This is a full-time contract-to-hire Remote assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.
Overview of YOUR role as an Associate Designer
The Associate Designer supports natural gas pipeline projects by producing accurate, high-quality design drawings and documentation. This role requires strong AutoCAD skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical data, site plans, and permit requirements. Candidates should be self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to grow their technical expertise in a remote work environment.
As an Associate Designer YOU will:
• Complete small-diameter designs with minimal oversight
• Interpret land and environmental investigation data
• Clean up and integrate survey and third-party CAD files
• Read and analyze site plans for design accuracy
• Interpret locate data and adjust gas main locations accordingly
• Create and manage sheet sets using Sheet Set Manager
• Develop preliminary line-of-lay alignments
• Perform baseline design drafting reviews for simple, non-main installation projects
• Generate elevation views and simple cross-sections
• Draft moderately complex site plans
• Interpret soil bore logs and geotechnical reports
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
• Apply knowledge of pipeline stationing
• Train and mentor less experienced drafters
YOU are the ideal Associate Designer candidate if you have:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Drafting certification or equivalent work experience
• Prior design experience in the natural gas industry
• Work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret technical data
• Self-motivated and collaborative mindset
• Eager to grow technical expertise
It's a BONUS if you have:
• Associate degree or certificate in drafting or related field
• Civil 3D experience
• Experience with Sheet Set Manager
• Knowledge of permit drawing requirements
• Familiarity with geotechnical reports and soil bore logs
• Experience with industrial meter set design
• Knowledge of tie-in fittings and installation methods
