Associate Distribution Engineer

They are seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to support electric utility design engineering projects, ensuring high-quality work and collaboration with clients. The role involves performing design engineering support, assisting in project planning, and gaining familiarity with utility coordination and permitting requirements. Responsibilities Perform design engineering support for electric utility projects under guidance from senior engineers Assist in developing work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using customer GIS and WMS systems (e.g., DDS, GDT, GE Smallworld, Bentley Expert Designer, Maximo) Support tracking of assigned tasks to help meet project schedules and client expectations Assist with routine planning activities and customer follow-up as needed Review assigned work for completeness and escalate issues or conflicts to senior team members Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and quality Gain familiarity with utility coordination, permitting requirements, easements, and ROW documentation Participate in both office and occasional field activities to collect data and support project development; must have a valid U.S. driver’s license for local travel as needed Work out of the Denver area office on a hybrid schedule Skills Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree Ability to demonstrate proficiency with the NESC Ability to provide your own reliable transportation, as some local or regional customer-related travel is anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates) Ability to demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills EIT Certification Providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC Design tools such as Pole Foreman, SOCKET, Spida-Calc, DDS MicroStation - performing Electrical Distribution design Work management software and job estimating software CAD tools Benefits Health and Wellness programs Income Protection Paid Leave Retirement Company Overview Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers with smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations.
