Assistant Designer - J.Crew Factory Women's Knits & Lounge

The Assistant Designer will assist in the development of seasonal concepts and collaborate with cross-functional partners to support the product lifecycle from concept to final sample.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development of seasonal concepts, color stories, fabric, trim, and graphic directionSupport the team with trend and market research, including seasonal color, material, silhouette, and styling inspirationCreate and update professional presentation boards, including CAD sketches, illustrations, and fabric/trim swatchesPrepare visual materials for internal meetings and milestone presentationsMaintain up-to-date tech packs, CADs, and linesheets in PLM and shared documentsHelp track and organize sample status, raw materials, and product development detailsCollaborate with Production to support design integrity through the development and bulk processAssist with lab dip approvals, fabric submits, and print strike-offs, providing feedback as neededWork closely with cross-functional partners including Merchandising, Technical Design, and Production to ensure deadlines are metParticipate in fittings and team reviews to support the product lifecycle from concept to final sampleHelp maintain the sample closet, raw materials library, and seasonal archives in an organized, accessible mannerSkills0β2 years of design experience, internship experience preferredBachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Design, or a related fieldStrong illustration and technical sketching ability (flat and fashion)Excellent color sense, trend awareness, and an eye for detailDemonstrated creative ability and a strong portfolio showcasing design and CAD workProficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of PLM, Microsoft Word, and ExcelStrong organizational, communication, and time management skillsAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentSelf-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced design environmentPrevious experience in graphic design or knowledge of graphics development is a plusBenefitsHealth & Well-being - Eligible associates and family members receive medical, dental, prescription and vision insurance, family planning (fertility, adoption & surrogacy support), fitness discounts, medical travel and more.Associate Discount - We love our products just as much as you do!
