Army Business Development Lead, Air Defense & CUAS

Remote Full-time
CHAOS Industries is redefining modern defense with a multi-product portfolio that gives the ultimate advantage—domain dominance. The company's products are powered by Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN™), empowering warfighters, commercial air operators, and border protection teams to act faster, adapt rapidly, and stay ahead of evolving threats.

CHAOS Industries was founded in 2022 and has raised a total of $1 billion in funding from leading investors, including 8VC, Accel, and Valor Equity Partners. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, with offices in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and London. For more information, please visit www.chaosinc.com.

Team Overview:

Mission Engineering at CHAOS turns threat and CONEMP-informed simulation output into product engineering and customer requirement guidance. We run large-scale modeling and simulation campaigns across all warfighting domains and the full kill chain, against named threats, in operationally relevant scenarios, at the speed engineering, operational, and customer teams actually need. Every CHAOS engineering trade, pursuit, and customer engagement is anchored in rigorous, physics-based, statistically valid analysis founded on threat and blue-force concepts of operation, and we're scaling the function to meet that bar across a growing product portfolio.

Role Overview:

As a U.S. Army Business Development Lead for Air Defense and Counter-UAS, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities through effective market analysis, strategic planning, customer engagement, requirements shaping, and formal industry response to Army solicitations. You will collaborate with mission engineering and product engineering teams to identify and analyze markets, inform them of customer and user requirements, and formulate winning strategies and business narratives that bring in new opportunities and revenue in air defense and C-UAS (which includes both sensing and effecting).

This is a foundational hire. You will shape how CHAOS thinks about and implements Army business development strategy, and you will have the freedom to move fast.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough market research to identify potential business opportunities and trends. Includes continuous opportunity monitoring using open-source (e.g., Sam.gov) and/or subscription services.

Perform regular research to understand emerging programs and opportunities and to learn about industry-specific subject matter.

Conduct competitive analysis to gain insights into market dynamics and competitor landscape, which contributes to opportunity qualification, teaming determination, and narrative development.

Engage the acquisitions leaders, requirement generators, and end users/operators of air defense and C-UAS programs in order to understand their needs, inform them of CHAOS capabilities, and translate their needs to mission and product engineering.

Qualify business opportunities and evaluate attractiveness and probability of win.

Partner with the capture team to develop comprehensive capture plans at the strategic (pipeline-wide) and tactical (opportunity-specific) levels that align with business priorities and growth targets.

Develop strategic messaging (“win themes”) for both customer engagements and proposals.

Plan and lead customer meetings, industry days, conferences.

Product Roadmap Prioritization

Translate customer priorities into capability needs that inform engineering priorities.

Participate in engineering planning sessions to ensure product development efforts are aligned to customer needs.

Customer Engagement

Serve as the U.S. Army lead on planning and executing engagements that support capturing Air Defense and C-UAS business.

Proposal and Content Development

Serve as the U.S. Army lead on proposals, market research, white papers, and other response content that supports capturing Air Defense and C-UAS business.

Translate U.S. Army priorities into clear, concise, and compelling response narratives that directly address customer needs.

Physical Location:
