Job Description: Start/End Dates: 09/02/2026 - 08/11/2026 Work Location: US - Remote-PST Bill Rate : $76 Hourly Max BR Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team, with a strong focus on media full stack and backend development. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PHP, React, and C++ which is used for building media-related applications and services, as well as a solid understanding of media ingestion and encoding, backend engineering principles, and media stack knowledge. In this role, the candidate will work closely with a senior software engineer to design, develop, test, and debug complex software systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance. Job Responsibilities: • Debug complex systems, including those related to media ingestion, to identify and fix issues that impact performance, reliability, and scalability. • Implement best practices for operational excellence, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability. • Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to detect issues before they become critical, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime. • Work closely with cross-functional teams, communicating technical information effectively to resolve issues and improve processes. • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that all parties understand the nature of issues and the steps being taken to resolve them. • Design and develop media full stack and backend systems, utilizing PHP, React, and C++ programming languages. • Collaborate with media engineers to optimize media ingestion and encoding processes, improving overall system performance and user experience. • Troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues specifically in the media stack. Skills: • Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and manage one's time. • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing, and delivery. • Media stack experience (ingestion and encoding) and familiarity with encoding formats Av1, HVEC • Proficiency in PHP, React, and C++ programming languages. • Experience with media full stack and backend development, including design, implementation, and maintenance of complex software systems. Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or relevant field required. • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on media full stack and backend development. • Media stack experience (ingestion and encoding) and familiarity with encoding formats Av1, HVEC is highly desirable.
