Architectural Associate Designer
GFT is a privately held AEC firm that innovates at the intersection of transportation, water, power, and buildings. They are seeking an Associate Architectural Designer to develop technical solutions under supervision, providing design support for various project types including aviation and civic projects.ResponsibilitiesPrepares project documents including but not limited to plans, details, and initial set up work on projectsGathers and records information such as product information and cut sheets to be used for cost estimating and specificationsSupports efforts for studies and reports and assists with preparation of technical reports or sections of reportsAssists with sheet set up on project drawings, drawing schedules, plans, elevations, sections, details, and specificationsAssists in reviewing and implementing redline markups on drawings and finalizing project workPrepares 3D imaging using proprietary software for client and in-house presentations as directed by supervisorLearns basic code evaluation procedure and information gathering requirements for review with supervisorIndividual is capable of working proficiently on their own with direction from supervisorsDemonstrates sound judgment in knowing when to ask questions, enabling efficient progress within project timelines while minimizing interruptions to supervisors and team workflowsCoordinates work with other team members through communication and supervisionCapable of following direction, project / office standards, and implementing constructive criticism to improve work product and development with supervisionResponsible for project work during construction assigned by supervisor including but not limited to submittal tasks, RFI’s, supplemental work including sketches, or submittal review processSkillsBachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited programAbility to be on path for licensure as architect in the state of residencePrior internship or work experience in an architectural officeExperience working in AutoCAD and Revit/Building Information Modeling (BIM) for design and technical documentationWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookGood written and verbal communication, organization, and collaboration skillsExperience working with SketchUp, Enscape, or other 3D modeling softwareBenefitsComprehensive benefits package including wellness programs, parental leave, and pet insurance, in addition to medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.Tax-deferred 401(k) savings plan.Competitive paid-time-off (PTO) accrual.Tuition reimbursement for continued education.Commitment to professional development, access to internal and external training programs, and support of active participation in professional organizations.Incentive compensation for eligible positions.Company OverviewGFT provides planning, design, technology, and construction management services.
