Appointment Scheduler

Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is looking for someone to work full-time as the Appointment Scheduler. The position is full-time with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and 401K retirement plan. The Appointment Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient appointment in an efficient and timely manner with multiple doctors throughout the JOI. Office Location: 1325 San Marco Blvd, Suite 200, Jacksonville, FL 32207 Training will be held at the office. Position will be remote. Schedule: Monday - Friday/40 hours/week Essential Functions Answer calls promptly, in a polite and professional manner. Obtain and enter accurate patient demographic information and insurance information. Schedule and confirm patient appointments. Follow up with reminder calls if applicable. Make calls to reschedule appointments when necessary. Answer questions and provide other information as requested. Direct calls to other departments as needed. Relay necessary messages to staff. Understand when to escalate calls to supervisor, Call Center Manager or Medical Staff. Maintain the strictest patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines. Adhere to Company policies, procedures and processes. Perform related work as required. Other assigned duties as assigned by your direct report. Position Requirements Prior customer service experience in a healthcare setting. Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service with a patient-care focus. Excellent communications skills, both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively over the phone. Ability to work efficiently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Demands Requires sitting and standing associated with a sedentary office environment: 90% Sitting, 5% Walking, 5% Standing. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and office equipment, and to write legibly. Vision sufficient to read standard text and data on computer screens and paper forms. Ability to speak clearly and with the volume required to carry on clear conversations in person and over the phone. Hearing sufficient to carry on clear conversations in person and over the phone.
