Appian Business Analyst
We are seeking a remote Appian Business Analyst to play a critical role in developing and maintaining Appian applications, gathering requirements, performing testing, and remediating issues. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to backlog refinements, and uphold best practices for Appian design and development. A strong technical foundation, a problem-solving mindset, and a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment are key to success.Key ResponsibilitiesRequirements & CollaborationWork with product owners and business analysts to understand requirements.Provide insights and recommendations to ensure user stories are clear and complete.Estimation & PlanningEstimate effort and complexity for user stories and tasks during sprint planning.DevelopmentDesign and build Appian capabilities, data records/models, and functionalities.Adhere to established design standards and best practices.Troubleshooting & SupportInvestigate and resolve issues related to Appian applications and integrations.Support testing efforts by creating test cases and identifying testing needs.Knowledge SharingContribute to internal documentation and training materials.Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions with team members.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with UX/UI designers and QA engineers to deliver integrated solutions.Communicate effectively with diverse teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.Continuous ImprovementStay current on new Appian features, tools, and industry trends.Identify opportunities for process enhancements and best practice adoption.CompetenciesAppian ExpertiseStrong understanding of Appian architecture, design patterns, and best practices.Proficiency in Appian SAIL, process modeling, and integration capabilities.Technical SkillsExperience with relational databases, SQL, and web services (REST/SOAP).Familiarity with Agile and project management tools (Jira, MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint).MethodologiesProven application of Waterfall, Agile Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.Communication & CollaborationExcellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.Job RequirementsCitizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required for Public Sector roles.Education: Bachelorβs degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.Certification: Appian Senior Developer certification (or higher).Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with Appian testing methodologies.Work EnvironmentLocation: This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in Dayton, OH or the Washington, D.C. area.Travel: Occasional travel may be required for team meetings and training.Collaboration: Work closely with teams in different departments and locations, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.Experience RequirementsMid Level
