API Automation Test Engineer
Job Title: API Automation Test Engineer Location: Remote – Must reside in Texas Type: Contract / Temp-to-Hire Pay: $30–$40/hour Overview We are seeking an API Automation Test Engineer to support quality assurance and automated testing for enterprise applications. This role focuses on building and executing automated API tests, improving testing frameworks, and ensuring reliable integration across systems. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute API automation tests using tools such as Rest Assured or ReadyAPI. • Write and maintain automation scripts in Java. • Identify, document, and troubleshoot defects during testing cycles. • Work with development teams to ensure high-quality releases and system integrations. • Utilize CI/CD pipelines and version control tools to support automated testing processes. • Maintain test documentation and track work using Agile tools. Required Qualifications • 6–12 years of experience in software QA testing or automation engineering. • Strong experience in API testing and test automation. • Proficiency in Java for automation development. • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven or ANT, and debugging tools such as Charles or Fiddler. • Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA and test management platforms like QMetry. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. • Must reside in Texas HOUIT41 Remote About the Company: Burnett Specialists
