AP Director Consultant with SAP

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager Consultant with SAP ERP system experience, to oversee and optimize the accounts payable operations for our client. This role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency through automation and process improvements. Located in New York, New York, this is a contract position with the potential for long-term growth and impact. Responsibilities: • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor interactions. • Lead and mentor a team of accounts payable professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability. • Collaborate with Procurement, Treasury, and Accounting departments to improve workflows and address discrepancies. • Ensure accurate month-end close processes, including preparing AP accruals and conducting reconciliations. • Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. • Oversee vendor onboarding and manage compliance with documentation such as W-9s and 1099s. • Drive automation initiatives and support system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability. • Monitor and analyze accounts payable metrics, providing actionable insights to finance leadership. • Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure timely resolution of inquiries or disputes. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounts payable management or related functions. • Demonstrated expertise in vendor relationship management and reconciliation processes. • Proficiency processing Accounts Payable in SAP REQUIRED • Hands-on experience with invoice coding, check runs, and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions. • Strong knowledge of tax compliance requirements, including W-9s and 1099s. • Proven ability to implement automation and process improvements within AP functions. • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams. • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial metrics and optimize cash flow.
