Animator for Training Projects and Videos

About the Role
McGarity is seeking a freelance Animator to support our Learning & Development team in creating high-quality animated videos for corporate training and govt clients. This role is ideal for a visual storyteller with a strong grasp of animation principles, excellent technical skills, and a background in eLearning or instructional content.
You’ll be responsible for translating scripts and storyboards into engaging visual content that supports learner comprehension and drives engagement across a variety of training initiatives.
Responsibilities

Animate training modules, microlearning videos, explainer content, and other instructional media.
Work from existing scripts and storyboards provided by instructional designers.
Build consistent, on-brand motion graphics (including intros/outros, transitions, icons, and infographics).
Communicate progress and deliverables within set project timelines.
Provide final deliverables optimized for various platforms (e.g., LMS, intranet, web).

Required Tools & Technical Expertise

Advanced proficiency in:
Adobe After Effects (primary animation platform)
Adobe Illustrator (for vector asset creation)
Adobe Premiere Pro (for compositing and editing)
Adobe Photoshop (for asset prep and layering)
Experience with tools such as Vyond, Camtasia, or Blender is a plus.
Comfortable working with SCORM-compliant outputs and media optimized for eLearning platforms.

Qualifications

3+ years of animation experience, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing training or explainer video work.
Ability to follow visual brand guidelines and accessibility best practices.
Familiarity with instructional content or adult learning principles is preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams.
