Based in Mexico and reporting to the Associate Manager, Trade Compliance LatAM, the Regional Trade Compliance Analyst is a support role within the Global Trade Compliance organization. The purpose of this position is to ensure the company’s processes, internal controls, and reporting are compliant with customs and trade laws across Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, and other Latin American countries. Responsibilities include supporting trade compliance activities, analyzing trade data, applying knowledge of regional regulations, and partnering with functional leaders to embed compliance in business activities, while driving continuous improvement of Energizer’s Global Trade Compliance program.

Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to ensure the company’s processes, internal controls and reporting are compliant with the customs and trade laws. This position will provide support of trade compliance activities through the analysis of trade data, application of comprehensive trade compliance knowledge and regulations, engagement with customs brokers and external partners to drive procedures and compliance adherence, whilst continuously assess potential compliance risks and opportunities, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with Argentine, Chilean, Ecuadorian and regional (LatAM) import/export laws and regulations, as required, in partnership with the regional trade compliance team.Support compliant export and import of goods.Advise on country-specific harmonized tariff classification information (customs rulings, explanatory notes).Support Mexican import/export transactions, as required by import/export laws.Risk Management:Execute post-entry audits and export filing audits to ensure compliance with local regulations.Develop and implement strategies to mitigate compliance risks.Report trade compliance issues or escapes to management as necessary.Customs Broker Management:Support customs broker management through SOP creation, responding to ad-hoc queries, and participating in month operational meetings and quarterly business reviews.Monitor performance of third-party providers (brokers, freight forwarders) using customs compliance KPIs.Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate smooth and compliant import/export operations.Training and Education:Share knowledge and suggestions to continuously improve Energizer’s Global Trade Compliance Program, including spot sessions with cross-functional colleaguesCommunicate relevant trade compliance alerts and requirements to internal stakeholders.Documentation and Record-Keeping:Ensure accuracy of trade compliance data in enterprise systems and electronic databases.Obtain and maintain proper records as required by domestic and international regulations.Process Improvement:Identify process inefficiencies, compliance risk or redundant work and develop automated or semi-automated solutions to mitigate riskSupport creation and enhancement of trade compliance processes, procedures, and tools.Collaboration:Work closely with various departments, including logistics, supply chain, legal, and finance, to ensure integrated compliance efforts.Partner with Global Trade Compliance Center of Excellence and regional teams to embed compliance requirements.Participate in cross-functional projects related to trade compliance.Communicate with internal stakeholder’s relevant trade compliance requirements critical for the successful and efficient execution of their business.

What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree and 2-4years of trade compliance or related experience with a foundational understanding of LatAm customs regulations.2+ years of Trade Compliance experience with a foundational understanding of Latin American customs regulations.Ability to collaborate and build trust with peers, leaders, and functional partners.Strong aptitude for data analysis, capable of interacting with diverse data sets to extract and articulate key insights.Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work proactively.Bi-Lingual - Spanish and English.MS Office - Intermediate/ Advanced Excel.What we preferFamiliarity with Global Trade Management System;Familiarity with SAP;Professional trade compliance/customs/foreign trade certificationExperience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)/Harmonized System (HS) classificationsExperience with Data Visualization Tools (i.e., PowerBI)Work EnvironmentPosition will be based in Mexico.Occasional regional travel of up to 5% required.Will need to manage flexible hours given international support.Ability to support cross-culturally.
