Analyst

Alethea helps clients combat false information through in-depth analysis of various risks. They are seeking an Analyst to conduct OSINT investigations, lead risk assessments, and provide expert guidance to clients, while contributing to the development of their analytic capabilities.ResponsibilitiesConduct in-depth research and analysis of online threats, disinformation campaigns, and reputational, security, and cyber risks across mainstream and fringe platformsDevelop and refine risk assessment methodologies, ensuring analytic judgments are precise, evidence-based, and client-relevantStay at the forefront of emerging technologies and analytic tradecraft, leading updates to collection and analytic approachesDeliver clear, concise, and compelling reports, slide decks, and briefings tailored to client needsProvide expert risk assessments and mitigation strategies in client engagements, building trusted advisor relationshipsSupport client-facing initiatives such as case studies, blogs, and advisory deliverables to showcase Alethea’s analytic offeringsContribute to the evolution of the Artemis platform by informing analytic requirements and workflowsFoster collaboration with product, engineering, sales, and client management teams to ensure integrated solutionsDeliver high-quality analytic outputs consistently and on deadline with minimal oversightManage multiple priorities while balancing time, scope, and quality considerationsProactively identify opportunities to improve workflows, methodologies, and client deliverablesSkillsDemonstrated expertise in online risk analysis, risk mitigation, disinformation, or information operationsProven track record of producing clear, evidence-based analysis, tailored to commercial or civil society audiences to inform strategy development and operationsStrong report writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to coach othersExperience mentoring analysts and contributing to team and organizational cultureDeep knowledge of OSINT, social media research, and analytic methodologiesStrategic problem-solving skills with a focus on actionable client insightsExperience working with or contributing to analytic platforms is a plusBenefitsHealthcare at the gold-tier level, dental, and vision is fully funded by the employer.50% of dependent coverage is provided by the employer.Employer-provided life and AD&D insuranceEmployee Assistance Program with a variety of services, including generous Mental Wellbeing support.Flexible vacation, sick leave, including office closure between Christmas and New Year’s.Employer sponsored 401k, after their 6-month anniversary, with a 3% match.Health Savings (HSAs) and flexible spending accounts (FSAs) are also offered.Hybrid work environment, with 3 days per week required in office in Washington, D.C or New York, with DC being preferred.Company OverviewAlethea is a tech company helping Fortune 500 and private companies protect themselves from disinformation and social media manipulation It was founded in 2019, and is headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia, USA, with a workforce of 11-50 employees.
