Description
Purpose As a Speed to Market (S2M) Intern, you will contribute to a high-priority, strategic initiative focused on accelerating the launch and implementation of AAIS products. Partnering with Product and Member Engagement teams, you will help develop, maintain, and enhance the S2M toolkit — a critical resource designed to streamline product deployment and optimize integration with stakeholders' policy administration systems (PAS). This tool plays a key role in driving efficiency, innovation, and value for AAIS and its members. Responsibilities You will assist furthering the goals and objectives of the Speed to Market toolkit, such as Creating detailed mind maps that visually represent technical specifications, showcasing AAIS insurance products' intellectual property in a clear and organized format. Developing and refining rating and data tables in Excel, ensuring accuracy and consistency before uploading them into AAIS’s proprietary software platform. Building comprehensive rating examples that illustrate premium calculations across multiple AAIS lines of insurance, providing valuable insights and validation for product accuracy. Conducting manual tests and assisting in the development of automated tests to assure functionality of specific applications. Supporting various special projects with Product teams, such as testing member company information in a new membership portal. Perform additional duties as assigned or requested. Learning Opportunities Gain in-depth understanding of insurance programs and their use by companies. Learn quality assurance concepts including test planning and execution. Opportunity to apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to on-the-job experiences. Programs and projects to help expand public speaking and presentation skills. Exposure to various parts of the business, encouraging professional development and relationship building.
Requirements
Student must be enrolled in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Services, Data Analytics, or related degree. Interest in pursuing a career in the insurance industry post-graduation. Ability to work in a fully remote working environment free from distractions and access to stable and reliable internet services. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comfortable with data and analyzing sensitive information. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good Interpersonal skills to quickly develop trust, credibility, and respect from all levels of staff. Strong attention to detail. Commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry knowledge, a plus. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. Ability to communicate effectively across multiple channels and asynchronously in a remote-first working environment. Employment Conditions The intern will be expected to work full-time at 37.5 hours/week over the summer with the potential for part-time work continuing during the school year. This internship is classified as a temporary, part-time position. This internship is compensated as non-exempt, hourly position. This internship position is fully remote.
Salary Description
$20.00/ Hour
