AI Tooling Engineer

The AI Tooling Engineer will work on creating reinforcement learning environments, evaluating model performance, and solving complex hardware/software optimization challenges.ResponsibilitiesRL environments to teach frontier LLMs how to design hardware and write kernelsEvals to measure model performance across frontier vendors for MatX tasksDifficult hardware / software optimization puzzles that challenge even the latest frontier modelsBuild tools for making these puzzles easier for both LLMs and humansSkills0 - 2 years experience with systems programming using Rust / Python / HDLsLinux / Docker experience is a mustCurrently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related fieldAll candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and work from our offices in Mountain View Tuesdays-ThursdaysThis position requires access to information that is subject to U.S. export controlsNon-coursework projects preferred; in HDL, RTL experience preferredExperience optimizing hardware for area / timing / powerML experience, especially with LLMsExperience with CLI coding agents: incl.
