Ag Specialty Appraiser

About the position Responsibilities • Provide accurate evaluation of desk review estimates for agriculture and specialty equipment. • Act as a subject matter expert, offering direct support to Ag Specialists in evaluating damaging and salvage value on ag and specialty equipment. • Leverage industry knowledge to ensure accurate assessments and promote consistency in appraisal practices. • Support decision-making in complex or high-value claims. • Conduct thorough agricultural equipment estimate reviews and grant appropriate payment authority. • Provide technical expertise in appraisals. • Collaborate with adjusters and management across business units for claims resolutions. • Maintain compliance with internal guidelines and industry standards. • Conduct training sessions for Ag Specialists and management on damage assessment procedures. • Respond to inquiries and concerns from policyholders, agents, and regulatory agencies. Requirements • College degree or equivalent plus five years relevant experience required. • Previous experience in estimating agricultural, heavy truck and specialty equipment is required. • Must demonstrate the ability to accurately appraise all aspects of damage to specialty equipment. • Demonstrated leadership, customer service, team orientation, and technical/business/industry regulations related skills required. Nice-to-haves • Senior appraiser or related work experience preferred. • Ability to work under all kinds of weather conditions. • Willingness to travel as required.
